Trash Bin Cleaning & Deodorizing

Trash bin cleaning washes, degreases, and deodorizes your garbage, recycling, and green waste cans right at the curb on pickup day, after the truck empties them. Our crew cleans the inside, the lid, and the outside of each can, treats the residue that causes the smell, and sets the cans back where they were. It is the same Grime Getterz crew that handles pressure washing and junk removal across the Central Valley, so bins can be added to any visit.

What a Bin Cleaning Includes

Each can gets the full treatment: the inside walls and bottom, the underside of the lid, the handle, the wheels, and the outside shell. We knock loose anything stuck to the bottom, apply a degreaser to the film that food waste leaves behind, pressure wash the can clean, then finish with a deodorizer so it does not smell the minute the lid closes. Garbage, recycling, and green waste cans are all included, and every can goes back upright in the spot where we found it.

Why We Clean on Pickup Day

A bin can only be cleaned properly when it is empty, and the one time it is reliably empty is right after the collection truck comes through. So we schedule around your pickup day and work at the curb after the truck has gone by. You do not need to be home. Leave the cans out where the hauler left them and we take it from there. If your pickup day shifts for a holiday, tell us and we move the visit.

What Central Valley Heat Does to a Trash Can

Valley summers run into the triple digits, and a closed plastic can sitting in the sun turns into an oven. Food residue and drips at the bottom break down fast in that heat, which is where the sour smell comes from, and it is what draws flies, maggots, and yellowjackets. Green waste cans have their own problem: wet clippings and fruit drop from backyard trees ferment in the bottom. A garden hose moves that mess around. Degreaser and pressure are what actually remove it.

Add It to a Pressure Washing or Junk Removal Visit

Trash bin cleaning is a small job, so it pairs well with bigger ones. If we are already at your home pressure washing the driveway, house, or patio, adding the cans takes little extra time. The same goes for junk removal: after we haul off a garage cleanout or a yard debris pile, we can wash the bins before we leave. It often makes sense to clean the side-yard concrete where the cans live too, since that spot collects the same drips and stains.

What Affects the Price

The number of cans, how long it has been since they were last cleaned, and whether the visit is a standalone trip or added onto other work all shape the price. A can with months of baked-on residue takes more degreaser and more time than one that gets cleaned regularly. Questions We Actually Get

Do I need to be home for trash bin cleaning?

No. Leave your garbage, recycling, and green waste cans at the curb after pickup, the way the hauler leaves them, and we clean them right there. Each can goes back upright when we finish. Just let us know how many cans to expect.

Why do you clean after the truck comes instead of before?

An empty can is the only kind you can clean all the way to the bottom. Waiting until after collection means there is no trash to move, nothing left in the bottom to hold odor, and the can goes back into service clean.

Will cleaning get rid of the smell?

The smell comes from residue stuck to the walls and bottom of the can, so removing that residue is what fixes it. We degrease, pressure wash, and deodorize every can. A can that takes food waste every week will build up again over time, so ask about a repeat schedule when you call.

Where does the dirty water go?

That depends on where your cans sit and how your street drains. Ask us about runoff handling at your address when you call, and we will walk you through it before we schedule the visit.

Can you clean the spot where the cans are stored?

Yes, as a pressure washing add-on. The concrete pad or side yard where cans sit collects the same drips, stains, and smell, and we can wash it during the same visit. If old junk is piled up next to the cans, our junk removal crew can haul it off too.
